Restaurants & Grocery Stores
Commercial kitchens inside of grocery stores and convenience stores is a rapidly growing industry. Selecting the right drain system will help protect your facility and customers from food borne illness or bacteria. ACO drains promote hygienic designs and efficient cleanability. Waste water can also contain fats, oils and grease (FOG) which is a major cause of pipe blockages and cannot be released to the waste water system. ACO stainless steel drains and grease management products are an ideal solution to your kitchen design.

Price Chopper
ACO MonoBloc HD200 was installed in the truck bays at Price Chopper’s distribution center to capture surface water and withstand continuous tractor-trailer traffic. The monolithic polymer concrete design with integral grate handles frequent braking and heavy loads, delivering durable drainage with minimal maintenance.
Considerations
Loading
- Parking areas will need to withstand frequent car and truck traffic, a drainage system and grate with a minimum Load Rating of Class C or higher is recommended
- Delivery areas will need to withstand truck and forklift traffic, a system and grate with a minimum Load Rating of Class E is recommended. Drains located in areas where vehicles turn or stop should also consider these additional dynamic loads
Application
- Hygienic solutions are most likely required and a stainless steel channel and grate should be considered.
- The presence of solids, grease, and oils may require grease traps and/or sediment separators
- ADA compliant, HeelSafe, and/or slip resistant grates may be required in pedestrian access areas
Areas with large run-off volumes may be ideal for modular water storage such as ACO StormBrixx
