Case Studies

  • Firestone Truck Dock

    Firestone Truck Dock

    Akron, Ohio
ACO KlassikDrain K200 was installed at the converted loading dock of the Firestone Triangle Building to control surface runoff in the lower bay. Chosen for fast, cost-effective installation and strong hydraulic capacity, the system provides about 140 linear feet in two runs to reduce ponding and improve safety.

Considerations

Loading

  • Frequent car and truck traffic will require a drainage system and grate with a minimum Load Rating of  Class C or higher

Application

  • ADA compliant and/or slip resistant grates may be required in pedestrian access areas
  • Surface water runoff is likely to contain hydrocarbons and an oil/water separator may be required
  • Car wash areas result in hydrocarbons, oils, road salts, detergent, and sediment in the wastewater which may need treatment before release/reuse
