Purdue University Courtyard
West Lafayette, Indiana
Purdue University has been instructing students for over 150 years. The university has expanded into five separate campuses and an online version, with the West Lafayette campus acting as the central facility. Several thousand engineering students study and graduate from Purdue annually.
Problem:
Renovations to the courtyard plaza between Purdue Memorial Union and Stewart Center required a shallow detention system at a minimal depth to avoid the ground water table and support a landscape area with rock creek. The project included foundation and utilities that vertically penetrated the tank.
ACO Solution:
- StormBrixx 900 SD (0.5 layers – 32,328 CF)
ACO StormBrixx® fulfilled this need with a half-layer tank shaped to the plaza's footprint, including cutouts within the tank to accommodate site utilities and foundations.
