Times Square, sometimes referred to as "the Crossroads of the World" is a major commercial intersection, tourist destination, entertainment center, and is brightly lit by numerous billboards and advertisements. It is located in the Midtown Manhattan section of New York City, at the junction of Broadway and Seventh Avenue.
Problem:
Landscape architecture for the reconstruction of Times Square was handled by the internationally recognized design firm Snohetta. It quickly became apparent to Snohetta that off-the shelf drainage systems were not physically or aesthetically up to the task for this application. Therefore, Aquaduct engineers had to design and manufacture a completely custom solution
