ACO is excited to announce the acquisition of SlotChannelUS LLC, a manufacturer of pre-cast, monolithic, FDOT-approved, steel-reinforced concrete slot channel for use on highways, roads, ports, docks and airports. Through this acquisition ACO further expands its offering of high-quality drainage products engineered specifically to meet the rigorous demands of heavy infrastructure applications.
SlotChannelUS LLC is a U.S.-based manufacturer of prefabricated slot channel drainage systems backed by decades of proven engineering and performance. As a partner of Betonwerk Neu-Ulmin—slot channel experts since 1964—the company has brought reliable, field-tested surface water management solutions from sites such as the Munich Airport and German Autobahn to the U.S. market.
Surface water runoff and fast-moving vehicles are a hazard waiting to happen. Effective drainage products that are designed to withstand the heavy-duty and dynamic loading demands of highways and roads are essential to maximize safety for all road-users. These new additions to ACO’s Infrastructure product line help road designers meet these demands and more!
The 8,000-psi reinforced concrete channels are available to meet or exceed AASHTO HS20/HS25 load specifications, FAA commercial airport loading requirements, and the EN1433 Load Class D, E and F requirements. In addition, their monolithic design offers exceptional strength, eliminates traffic vibration noise, and have no loose parts or grates to create a hazard. Units are simply set on a prepared base without the need for a concrete surround, creating significant installation time and cost benefits. Install time for a 12′ length of 12″ diameter channel after base preparation is estimated at 5 minutes.
