One Wachovia Center

One Wachovia Center

Charlotte, North Carolina

One Wells Fargo Center is a 588-foot skyscraper in Charlotte, North Carolina and is the headquarters for Wells Fargo's east coast division. Opening on September 14, 1988, it was the tallest building in North Carolina, until 1992 when it was surpassed by the Bank of America Corporate Center.

Problem:

The plaza has been completely renovated and a trench drain system was required that could remove stormwater from the pedestrian area and fit into an existing shallow recess.

ACO Solution:
  • ACO Drain®
  • SlabDrain H100KS-8 with Type 448D
  • Longitudinal Stainless Steel Grates

ACO's SlabDrain H100KS-8 with stainless steel grates was selected because its shallow invert fitted into the existing elevated slab. The trench drain with stainless steel edge railing and ADA stainless steel grates provided superior aesthetics and added to the overall look of the plaza.
