Rodney Cook Sr. Park

Rodney Cook Sr. Park is a 16-acre park in the Vine City neighborhood of Atlanta. Vine City has been plagued by a complex set of social and economic challenges, along with outdated infrastructure and severe flooding. The 16-acre park has been designed to alleviate the flooding by capturing and storing up to 10 million gallons of stormwater while creating a vibrant community destination and ultimately revitalizing the neighborhood.
Problem:
The project required a drainage system that was both ADA-compliant and aesthetically beautiful without sacrificing design.
ACO Solution:

The ACO K100 was chosen because it successfully transports water away from where it is not needed, allowing people to enjoy a risk-free walk around the park. The Type 461Q grate was installed in conjunction with 184 linear feet of K100 channels.
