World War II Memorial

World War II Memorial

Washington, D.C.

The World War II Memorial remembers the 16 million Americans who served in the military services, the over 400,000 who died, and everyone who helped the war effort at home. The memorial, which represents the defining event of the twentieth century, is a testament to the passion, sacrifice, and devotion of the American people.

Problem:

A replacement of an ACO Drain® was needed after some memorial upgrades occurred. A trench drain system is required to remove water and keep the walkways surrounding these iconic monuments safe.

ACO Solution:

ACO Drain®
KlassikDrain KS100 with Type 465Q
Perforated Stainless Steel Grates

The KS100 was chosen for this project because of its adaptability and ability to fit into the aesthetics of the surrounding environment. The Type 465Q grates by ACO are design to be safe for pedestrians in wheelchairs, high heels, or riding bikes.
