Circuit of the Americas – Formula 1 Race Track

Since 1950, Formula One has been the world's top motor racing championship. Many F1 races were staged in the United States during that time. The final Formula One race in the United States was conducted in 2007 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indiana. It was announced in 2010 that a new track will be built in Austin, Texas, to host US F1 races from 2012 to 2022.

Problem:

Hermann Tilke, a German architect, has spent the last 15 years designing purpose-built circuits for Formula One races. Many of these new circuits feature extensive trench drainage, and the Austin track is no exception.

ACO Solution:

• QMax 225 with custom iron rail

ACO Infrastructure QMax 225 complete with ductile iron intake slot was chosen for the track areas. The inaugural race was held November 18th, 2012 and all trench drains held up well to the intense forces inflicted by F1 race cars.
