IDOT 7 West I90
Rosemont, Illinois
The project for West I90 by O'Hare Airport was divided into three phases. Milling, resurfacing, shoulder rumble strips, and drainage system improvements are all component of project plan for phase two.
Problem:
For phase two, all operations specified by the engineer must be followed. Those objectives include excavation, frames, grates, fittings, coupling systems, connections, concrete collars, concrete backfill, and accessories.
ACO Solution:
- ACO Drain®
- PowerDrain® S200K
- Slotted Ductile Iron Grates
PowerDrain was designated by the engineer to collect water from steep slopes on both the east and west sides of the roadway. The S200K is a suitable product for variable traffic that may utilize the side of the road, as it meets the 8" width requirement and passes the IDOT standard grate pull test. S200K has been tested up to Load Class F to deal with the wide variety of vehicles that would be using the road.
